Happy Thanksgiving week, and man, did it arrive early or what this year? Can’t get any earlier on the calendar that November 22, the fourth Thursday of the month this year.
We’re grateful to have you as a loyal GLO classic rock listener and like to do nice things for you to show that. This week, we give thanks for your listenership and fine taste in music by doing a Thanksgiving holiday Block Party weekend, running from blackout Wednesday at noon until Black Friday night at midnight. We’ll provide you with the musical backdrop to enjoy your week of eating, shopping and family get togethers. And on Thanksgiving evening, after the Bears beat the Lions, we’ll air our tradition special, Alice’s Restaurant, at 6 pm.
You’ll get a kick out of the humorous, hour-long special, as Arlo Guthrie tells of his trouble with the law on Thanksgiving 1965 and its ramifications a few years later when the Vietnam War was going on.
