Chicago Bears number one draft pick Kevin White will start the season on the PUP list with a shin injury according to team officials.
The number one pick out of West Virginia sustained a stress fracture in his shin during OTA’s and will undergo surgery which will place him on the shelf for at least 6 weeks.
“Kevin will remain on PUP,” General manager Ryan Pace said. “That gives us the option of bringing him up in the later portions of the season if need be. But I want to state that our whole focus right now is his long-term health. I know he’s going to be a great player for the Chicago Bears.
The Bears still have options at receiver this year with Alshon Jeffery, Marquis Wilson, and free agent pick up Eddie Royal, who has also played with Jay Cutler earlier in their careers in Denver.
