Singer, Rocker, Actor Meatloaf collapsed on stage last (Thursday) night in Alberta, Canada, during a show. The 68-year-old rock star is said to be in “stable and good condition,” according to reports from his representatives.
Meat Loaf was suffering from “severe dehydration.” He had cancelled two other shows this week in Canada already due to illness. This is not the first time he’s collapsed on stage, either, having gone down at a 2003 London show and at a 2011 Pittsburgh concert.
The former high school football offensive lineman has enjoyed a remarkable career, highlighted by his trilogy of “Bat Out of Hell” albums. The original album, “Bat Out of Hell” has sold more than 43 million copies worldwide and still sells about 200,000 units annually. Meat’s sold over 80 million albums overall. He won a rock solo vocal Grammy Award for the song “I’d Do Anything For Love” from the third “Bat” album, ironically the song he was singing when he went down last night.
Add to that, his acting career has produced some memorable movie moments, like in “Rocky Horror Picture Show” and “Fight Club.” He’s also done numerous TV guest spots in shows. Get better, big fella!
