It’s been too long for Judas Priest to return to Bloomington/Normal, but it’ll be worth the wait. Judas Priest plays the Twin Cities for the first time since 1979 when they visit the Grossinger Motors Arena, formerly the U.S Cellular Arena, in Bloomington on April 8. Specials guests are Saxon and Black Star Riders.
One of heavy metal’s legendary acts, Judas Priest, hits the road next spring in support of its upcoming, new album, “Firepower.” Priest still rocks with three of its originals members: frontman and singer Rob Halford, bassist Ian Hill and guitarist and keyboardist Glenn Tipton.
Judas Priest can still bring it. I enjoyed their Peoria Civic Center show a couple years ago (see video below). They’re one of the architects of heavy metal, coming from the hometown of Ozzy Osbourne – Birmingham, England – and staying mostly together now for 48 years!
Tickets go on sale Friday, October 27 at 10 am through the box office and Ticketmaster. And keep listening for your chance to win a pair in the coming weeks from Peoria’s classic rock concert ticket station, 95.5, GLO.
