Happy 71st birthday to one of the greatest rock singers of all time, Robert Plant, of Led Zeppelin fame. Plant left home at 16 to get his real education in blues – not exactly the recipe for success, but what a massive star and rock god he became. His voice spanned vocal ranges, easily screaming the high note. His looks – bare chest and curly, long blond hair – made the ladies disrobe. His mystical lyrics flat out confused me.

We’re spinning plenty of Zeppelin 2-fers in his honor today, and I’ll be playing a Grammy Award-winning song from his collaboration with the Illinois native, Alison Krauss during my 6:15p, Doc’s Deep Dive segment.
