Last week’s Mid Illini high school football results threw a curve into our plans for this week’s Super Nutrition Red Zone Game of the Week coverage.
We had planned for week 5’s game of the week to be Morton at Washington, but both of those teams lost last week, leaving them at 1-1 in conference play. Dunlap and Metamora both secured one-touchdown victories last week to improve to 2-0 in Mid Illini play, and the Eagles and Redbirds from Malone Field will be our main game of the week, with Tony Johnson, Tyler Busch and in Metamora to cover the first-place showdown.
Morton at Washington will be our secondary game, with Tom Meredith covering the Panthers live for the third consecutive week. Dunlap, 28-21 winner over Washington last week, and Metamora, 21-13 winner at Limestone last week, are the lone 2-0 teams remaining in what looks to be a tight race for the title.
